Fun Idea: Have your child taste the unsweetened cocoa and guess what ingredient it needs to make it sweet. Whoever guesses sugar will get to stir the chocolate chips in the batter.

Here is what you need
- 1 Cup (2 sticks) softened butter
- 1 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla.
- 2 1/2 Cups All-purpose flour
- 3/4 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
Two Bowls Method:
Cream together butter and sugar.
Add the eggs and mix.
Add the vanilla and mix well.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt together.
Add flour mixture to the sugar mix. Mix well.
Add the chocolate chips.
Spoon 1-inch balls onto a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Cool. Store in an air-tight container or freezer.
