When you bite into these soft and chewy oatmeal cookies, it will become your go-to recipe.

Kids love making these cookies as it is fun with all the measuring they get to do.

You can use gluten-free flour to get the same results. Also, add chocolate chips instead of raisins.

You can also sneak 2 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flaxseed to give it extra nutrients.

The best thing is to have fun making, baking and indulging!

 

Kids baking club - easy baking recipes for kids

Here is what you need

  • 1⁄2 Cup (1 Stick) Butter
  • 3⁄4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1⁄2 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1⁄2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1⁄2 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 Cup Raisins or chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 Cups Quick-Cooking Oatmeal

Cream butter. Add in sugars. Mix well. Add egg and mix. Add vanilla. Mix.

In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Add to sugar mixture.

Add raisins and oatmeal. Mix well.

Drop by spoonfuls onto baking pan (lined with parchment paper). Bake in pre-heated 350F oven for 12 minutes.

Store in airtight container. You can freeze for later up to 2 months.

  • 3.4 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar or honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 Cup raisins or chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 Cups oatmeal
